Peritoneal Dialysis

Peritoneal Dialysis in Madinaguda

Peritoneal Dialysis is a technique used to get rid of waste products from the blood when kidneys are under distress and cannot filter properly. During the procedure, about 2 litres of fluid called dialysis  fluid will flow through a catheter and into the patient’s abdomen. The abdomen’s lining then acts as a filter and removes waste products from the blood which is then discarded through the catheter. The lining is called peritoneum which lends its name to the procedure.

At Bright Kidney Center, our expert nephrologists offer different options of dialysis based on the patient’s requirement and comfort. If the doctor prescribes peritoneal dialysis for a patient, they may be of two types – Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis or Automated Peritoneal Dialysis. Patients can carry out the dialysis at home, no need to visit hospital for dialysis and easily travel on holidays
